The Center for Communication Programs Nigeria (CCPN) and the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, Baltimore, USA are pleased to offer the 11th “Leadership in Strategic Health Communication Course” to be held in Nigeria.

It applies the latest thinking on leadership development to strategic health communication planning.

This two-week course has proven critically important in developing a positive change in ability to design, implement, and supervise SBCC activities to create and manage effective, results-oriented programs.

SPEAKERS

Andrea Brown

Andrea Brown, Master of Social Work, has worked with CCP as a program officer for seven years and has over ten years of experience working in international health. Ms. Brown has vast experience in training and capacity building, having co- led in the organization and facilitation of three 2-week Leadership in Strategic Health Communication (LSHC) workshops in Senegal, Barbados and Ethiopia, CCP’s flagship training course. With a Baltimore based team, she has organized, led and facilitated five 3-week LSHC workshops held in the United States. Ms. Brown is currently a Senior Program Officer with CCP’s Global Programs on Malaria. She works on strategic behavior change communication strategies to distribute long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) to achieve Universal Coverage as well as strategies to ensure continuous distribution of mosquito nets to communities. Ms. Brown provides technical support to Presidents Malaria Initiative (PMI) countries such as Madagascar, Liberia, Ghana and Tanzania with additional activities in Senegal, and Uganda. She has creative community outreach experience and has a proven commitment to social change and advocacy. Ms. Brown’s professional history includes working as a Health Educator for rural mothers and children and a Project Coordinator for famine stricken communities in Madagascar. She also has extensive experience working with domestic organizations, including non-profits that provide skills and opportunities for marginalized populations.

Babafunke Fagbemi CCPN

Babafunke Fagbemi

Babafunke Fagbemi is the Executive Director of Center for Communication Programs Nigeria with over 25 years of experience in strategic behavior change communication. In Nigeria, she has successfully organized 10 editions of the annual LSHC workshops for over 200 BCC practitioners from the African continent. In a collaboration with JHU·CCP in Malawi, she facilitated the USAID funded LSHC workshop. She supported the Tanzania capacity and communication project (TCCP) to mentor LSHC facilitators in action for the ACE mentoring program.
